Prof. Dr. Abdullah TEMİZKAN

Prof. Dr. Abdullah TEMİZKAN was born in Sivas in 1969. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Sivas. He earned his bachelor's degree from Gazi University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of History. After completing his master’s degree at the Institute of Social Sciences of the same university, he pursued his doctoral studies at Ankara University’s Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Modern History.
Although his main field of study is Caucasian History, he is also interested in and conducts research on topics such as Ottoman-Russian Relations, Ottoman-Polish Relations, and Methods of Legitimation of Power. While preparing his doctoral thesis, he attended the Pushkin Institute in Moscow during the 2004-2005 academic year with a state scholarship to conduct research and improve his Russian language skills. During the 2007-2008 academic year, he attended the University of Warsaw with another state scholarship in connection with a TÜBİTAK research project titled "The Role of Polish Units in the Caucasus-Russian Struggle."
Since 2006, he has been working as a faculty member at the Institute of Turkish World Studies at Ege University.
Prof. Dr. Abdullah TEMİZKAN is married and has two children.
